Partnership between S.Oleum and SAP is highlighted in the newspaper Valor Econômico

S.Oleum and SAP

The planet is undergoing an energy transition, a search for renewable and sustainable feedstocks that enable economic development without compromising the world for future generations. S.Oleum emerges as a response to these new demands and with strong partnerships, such as SAP, to prove the company’s sustainability indicators. This union between SAP technology, a reference in business management programs, and S.Oleum – focused on the production of sustainable feedstocks, on a large scale, with negative carbon emissions – was highlighted in today’s Valor Econômico newspaper. The report spoke with Aline Tristão Bernardes, S.Oleum’s Director of Sustainability, who told about macaúba, a native Brazilian species – rich in oils, biomass, proteins, fiber and cellulose – which is the focus of S.Oleum’s operations.

“The idea is to transform the food industry through regenerative agriculture, producing on a large scale and betting on a model in which nothing of this tree is wasted,” explained Aline. In addition to the premise of zero waste, S.Oleum has another card up its sleeve, the fact that macaúba is an extremely resistant plant, which allows S.Oleum to focus its planting on degraded or low-productivity lands of the Cerrado.

S.Oleum’s plan

The company’s plan is to plant 180,000 hectares of macaúba by 2029 and monitor the productive areas, permanent preservation and legal reserves with SAP’s Sustainability Control Tower and SAP Product Footprint Management tools, which facilitate real-time decision-making, calculate the carbon footprint and allow monitoring the evolution of the territory.
